I stayed here during the last week of August, 2017. I travel frequently for work and stay in many various motels. This motel is easily the cleanest and friendliest place I've yet stayed in in Michigan. Seriously, I liked it better than the Grand Hotel on Mackinac Island! The Standish Motel is a diamond in the rough.
Clean, however really small barhroom. Also there rates have gone up considerably in the last few years so not the value it used to be. Still a nice little place thats fine in a pinch
Would stay again, but would consider other options first.
Starting to remodel rooms. Some rooms are big and some are small. All rooms have a outside door. Easy for wheelchairs to enter. Its a nice small hotel. If you plan to fish anytime of the yr. Great place to stay. During the summer have a seasonal ice cream shop next door.
The rooms were mostly clean. The tv remote didn't look like it has been cleaned in weeks though. Also found a bug in the bathroom. Likely came in through the air conditioner though.
Just seemed cheap. Very little room to move around. A/C didn't seem to work very well. Shower tile looked nice.
